Qualify Contact/ The Ask

“Would you be the correct person to speak with regarding expanding your service area to include a few more zip codes? This would help us route more work your way.”

Ask directly and confidently. 

If YES: continue to Benefits

If NO: proceed to next question.

If Not Right Person

“Could you let me know the name of the person I should speak with about partnership opportunities? Would you be able to share their direct phone number and email or is it best to reach them through the main line.”

Stay polite and professional. Gather referral info if possible.

Benefits/Value Proposition

“Just like you currently receive and work our service jobs, by expanding zip code areas you will help us with more current jobs and allow you to permanently expand your service area. 

This could increase your volume and revenue without adding much travel. 

If distance is a concern, we can offer pre-authorized travel fees or $1.25/mile reimbursement. Anything above that would require AM approval.”

Mention value clearly. 

Offer travel fee solutions early if they sound hesitant or bring it up.

Handling Objections

Travel Fees:

“We can offer $1.25/mile or request pre-authorized amounts on selected zip codes.”

Not Licensed:

“That’s totally fine. If you get licensed in the future we’d love to hear from you.”

Stay professional and supportive. Offer solutions or exit gracefully.

Confirm Interest/ Action Step

“If you’re interested we can go over the zip codes now or I can send over the zip codes we’d like to add. Can I confirm the best email to send them to? 

Once you’ve had a chance to review…….”

Always confirm or update the contact info.

Closing Statement

“Thank you for taking the time to speak with me today. Please confirm your email. Once the zip codes have been added by our admin team you will receive an email to accept the zip codes in ServiceBench.”
