Utility Contract Cancellations

This article outlines the correct cancellation procedures for Utility Transfer Plus and Utility Embedded contracts to ensure consistent handling and customer service across operations.

Definitions and Characteristics

Utility Transfer Plus: Warranty agreements administered by Cinch Home Services. Cinch takes full responsibility for managing service, including cancellations.

Key Characteristics

  1. HANDLED by Cinch Home Services.
  2. A pop-up message WILL NOT appear in TIMX indicating an embedded plan.
  3. Cancellations are completed in TIMX using standard Cinch procedures.
    1. DO NOT refer the customer back to the utility company.

Utility Embedded: Warranty agreements that are embedded within a utility company’s service offering, and Cinch does NOT manage cancellations.

Key Characteristics

  1. NOT handled by Cinch Home Services.
  2. When the contract is opened in TIMX, a pop-up message WILL display: 'Embedded Plan' (shown below).
  3. Customers must be referred back to the utility partner to complete the cancellation request.

Notes
Standard retention efforts are expected for both contract types.
