Tech Hub is the technician-facing application Sears uses to manage Service Jobs.
In an effort to go digital, Sears has had an increase in approval threshold, so they no longer call into Authorizations for job repair approvals under $1000. Remember, Sears provides all their parts unless NLA, or a replacement is needed.
Parts Sourcing Process
In the case of a part being NLA, a replacement is needed, or it is an uneconomical repair, Sears technicians now send requests directly to Research via the Tech Hub app. There is no middle department involved.
Research works the Replacement and NLA requests by noting the original account that the job is in research. They then create a Sears Parts Procurement Service Job to either attempt to source the NLA part or to process the Replacement and provide options for the customer.
If the Tech Hub application is not working, Sears technicians may call in to have the Authorizations agent send the request to Research. Authorizations may do this by creating a Sears Parts Procurement Service Job and sending it to Research per standard procedure.
If a tech does call in for an appliance repair for any other reason, ensure that they are seeking approval for an economical repair if the total is over $1000, the technician should be using his professional experience to make a Replacement recommendation.
