Sears Shop Your Way (SSYW)-Retention

Sears Shop Your Way (SSYW) is a Sears Credit Card that has a rewards program attached to the card. Shop Your Way members can now earn points on qualifying purchases that can be redeemed as payment on their Cinch Home Warranty.

Benefits of the Sears SSYW program to Cinch Customers:
  1. Customers can save money on monthly premium payments by using rewards points.
  2. Customers can choose to opt in and out of the program as often as they like with no penalty.
  1. Customers can only use rewards points for warranty premiums and will not be able to use points for deductible payments, non-covered charges, etc.
  2. Customer must have enough rewards points to pay for the premium payment in full. Partial payments using rewards points are not permitted.
  3. 1000 SSYW Points = $1.00 US

Opt In

Customers must be enrolled in the warranty as well as the SSYW Reward Program (shopyourway.com). Once enrolled, the customer can contact Customer Service or Enrollment to Opt In.
  1. Log into TIMX SCM and open Customer Record.
  2. Click Menu Options, then select O pt In SSYW.
    1. If customer has already opted in, selection will show as Opt Out SSYW.
  3. Click Yes , then OK on pop-ups.
  4. A system generated note will auto update to the Communication History Log advising of customers decision to Opt In.

Opt Out

If customer decides they no longer want to use their rewards points as payment, they must contact Customer Service to Opt Out. Once customer opts out, points will go back to the customers Shop Your Way account.
  1. Log into TIMX SCM and open Customer Record.
  2. Click Menu Options , then select Opt Out SSYW.
    1. If customer has already opted out, selection will show as Opt In SSYW.
  3. Click Yes , then OK on pop-ups.
  4. A system generated note will auto update to the Communication History Log advising of customers decision to Opt Out.

Point Usage

Once customer has opted in, their available SSYW rewards points balance will be applied to their premiums.


To check customers SSYW Rewards Point Usage:
  1. Log into TIMX SCM and open Customer Record.
  2. Click Menu Options , then select Interface Out History.
Cinch does not keep track of how many rewards points the customer has.

SSYW Save Script

If customer is calling in to cancel their warranty, follow current process to attempt to save. If the retention effort results in a save, you must confirm your sale with the customer using the below script within the last 2 minutes of completing the call.
  1. This script must be read verbatim to the customer.
    2. Failure to read this script to the customer will result in an invalid sale.

Cancellation and Refund

If customer would still like to cancel, follow current cancellation process. Cinch will refund dollars to the SSYW credit card on file and points are returned to the customer's SSYW rewards points account.
  1. If the SSYW credit card on file is no longer valid, the automated transaction will be rejected and a check will be issued manually.
    1. Customer may update their account with any other credit/debit card.
  2. For monthly/annual payment refunds, the amount refunded will be prorated.
