Merge Duplicate Member Broker Accounts

Merge Duplicate Main Office (Member Broker) Accounts

Merging duplicate member broker accounts is processed when the Member Broker has multiple accounts at the same office and the accounts need to be merged into one.

 

Determine which account needs to be merged based on the amount of production; whichever account has the most  amount of production should be the account to merge into.  Also, determine which account has the agreement.  Once the accounts are merged, then the production needs to be moved over to the correct Member Broker number.

  1. Identify if the member broker is a Main or Branch.

  2. If Main:

    1. Click on SMF icon and select Member Broker Search Panel

 

  1. Enter the Main Member Number, in the appropriate field and Search.

  1. Click on the account

  2. Review to determine if there are branches assigned to the main.

  3. if there are no branches assigned, the Main/Branch button will be greyed (unavailable to click), proceed to the Merge Process

  1. If the Main/Branch is not greyed out, this an indication that the Main Office has branches assigned to it.

  1. Click on the Main/Branch button to view all branches assigned to the current Main office.

 

  1. If the Branch that needs to be merged is assigned to the correct Main office, proceed to Merge Process below.

  2. If the Branch is NOT assigned to the correct Main office, assign the Branch to the correct Main office (see Creating a Member Broker Process)

 

Merge Process

  1. Conduct a search using the broker number.  (if not provided, search by main office phone number, address, office name or broker's name)

    1. Main office telephone number, click Search icon

    2. if no result, search by Main office name, click Search icon

    3. if no results, search by Main office address, click Search icon

    4. if no results, search by Broker Name, click Search icon



  1. Click on the Cancellation Reason tab

  2. In the Cancellation Reason Code, select Merge W/# from the drop down arrow.

  1. Enter the Member Broker number for the office we are keeping, in the Distb Chnl Merge With column

 

  1. Enter comments in the Comment field.

 

Enter comments in both member accounts.

 

Ex Comment:  Per email from AE Katie duplicate office .(first initial last name)
