Locksmith Reimbursement

Locksmith Reimbursement is offered to customers with an active Cinch or HMS product only. The customer is entitled to pre-defined reimbursement when they lock themselves out of their home and locksmith service is necessary to gain access.

The following is the description of the reimbursement offer, instructions, and ServiceBench entry:

HMS Offer

  1. Available to customers with an active HMS Product.

o   Offer varies by product by state.

  1. Used only for the primary residence to gain access, not to re-key the lock or replace keys and locks.
  1. Locksmith service is for external locks only.
  1. Up to $50 reimbursement for 1 occurrence per contract term.

Third Party Offer

  1. Available to customers with an active Third-Party Product (Warranty, Maintenance, Referral Assistant 24, or Referral Assistant 24 PLUS).

o   Referral Assistant 24 PLUS and TotalWorks offer both home & automobile locksmith reimbursement. Automobile locksmith reimbursement is available to the customer and members of their immediate family residing in their household.

  1. Used only for the primary residence to gain access, not to re-key the lock or replace keys and locks.

  2. Locksmith service is for external locks only.
  1. Up to $50 reimbursement for 1 occurrence per contract term.

Reimbursement Process

  1. The customer is encouraged to contact a local locksmith to schedule service and pay the locksmith for the services rendered. The agent will make sure the customer has their Contract Number to include with their paid invoice and advise they must send in their invoice for reimbursement.

    Locksmith Service Request Script

    “<Customer Name>, it is not required for you to place a service request. Simply call a local locksmith company in your area, pay them for the services, and send the paid invoice to use to receive your reimbursement offer.

    Would you like the email address to submit the paid invoice?”

    Notate your interaction with the customer in the CEC Notepad.

  2. Once the service has been completed, the customer will need to write their Contract Number and Telephone Number on the Locksmith Invoice/Receipt and email, fax, or mail a copy to Cinch.

  3. Once the invoice/receipt is received, Support Services will process the reimbursement and forward it to Accounts Payable.
  4. Based on the offer, the customer will receive a reimbursement check in the mail in 7-10 business days.
