Appliance Install Guidelines

Most of our Appliance Replacements will have install included, however we do run across scenarios where our distributors may not install certain items or in certain locations. While the Research Department will add an install credit to any job where our distributor does not do install, we may run into situations where an install is not completed and an install credit will need to be offered. Be sure to follow the Install Guidelines prior to approving an install credit.

GE

In some cases when ordering from GE, their site will advise they install but when they deliver the appliance they will advise the customer they do not install. If a customer calls due to the appliance not being installed and there is nothing in the job indicating install is not included, provide the following options to the customer using the scripting provided:

Option 1:
  1. “We can offer you a claim credit in the amount of <Install Amount> to have the appliance installed. You may take that credit and contact a local appliance company or handy man in your area to come to your home and complete the install.”
Option 2:
  1. “We can reach out to GE to obtain information on why the appliance was not installed. It may take 24-48 business hours for GE to respond and provide information and a potential return date for install. Once we have this information we will reach out by phone to advise of the potential return date. Please note if GE reports that modifications are needed, the install credit will be the only option. If the return window for install is too large, you will still have the option to accept the Install Credit.”
Submit the Purchasing Escalation Form using the reason “Appliance not installed by GE” and enter whether customer chose the install credit or to send GE back out.

Create & Approve Install Claim Credit

  1. In the Service Job, add a new Part Line. Fill in as follows:
    1. Part Ordered: Install Credit
    2. Quantity: 1
    3. Description: Install Credit
    4. Part Source: Cinch Home Services
    5. Status: Approved
    6. Status Date: Current Date
    7. Part Item Code: Other Part
    8. Part Unit Price: <Install Pricing Amount>
    9. Click Save.
  2. Create a claim following the Create Claim Process.
    1. Reference Number: Install Credit
    2. Date Repaired: Current Date
    3. Date Repair Started: First Appointment Date
    4. Submit Claim. The claim will automatically Reject
    5. Click Approve Override
    6. Part Line Costs: Enter $0 in all part lines except the Install Credit
    7. Ensure all part lines are Entitled
    8. Click Approve
    9. Click Add Customer Claim Credit
    10. Enter the Maximum Customer Claim Credit amount in the popup (Install Credit Amount), then click OK
    11. Claim will now be Under Review
  3. Process based on how customer wants to receive install credit (electronic deposit/check)
